The function of the Business Development Manager is to lead the business development team and interface with external stakeholders to ensure that plans and actions are completed on time and  communicated effectively. He or she is responsible for setting the team’s strategy, objectives, goals and targets, identification and evaluation of business opportunities, incorporation of these business opportunities.

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities required:
An individual must be able to perform each duty based on the following attributes:

• Thorough understanding of business systems and processes within a steel environment
• Knowledge of steel making processes.
• Understanding of markets and customer requirements across a variety of steel product segments
• Commercial and financial awareness
• Strong leader of multi-discipline teams
• Ability to communicate effectively across all business levels
•  Supportive of learning within the organization and development of nationals.

Minimum Education Qualifications

• Engineering Degree or
•  Business Degree 

Professional Experience

•  10 Years Experience of Management within the Steel Sector
•  Exposure to customers
•  Managed multi-discipline teams
•  Strong business and commercial awareness
• Understanding of business processes within steel companies
